Alan Bandy has over twenty years of experience in Christian ministry, serving as a youth minister, an associate pastor, and a pastor of churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina. As interim pastor, he has served various churches in Oklahoma and Louisiana. He also regularly leads academic study tours in Turkey and Israel.
Prior to joining the NOBTS faculty, Alan served as the Rowena R. Strickland Associate Professor of New Testament and Greek at Oklahoma Baptist University, the Assistant Director of the Ph.D. program at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and as Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at Louisiana College, where his teaching career began.
Alan married his high school sweetheart, Necoe, in 1995. Together they have five children: Alexandra, Josiah, Victoria, Mackenzie, and Titus.
